Meleah & James - Stillwater Meadows, Aledo, TX

Meleah and James covenanted in marriage on an absolutely cloudless Saturday afternoon in April at the beautiful Stillwater Meadows in Aledo, TX.

As a photographer I have the privilege of capturing the images of one of the most important days in two peoples’ lives. It can and should feel like an awesome and overwhelming responsibility to get it all right. I felt that keenly on this day! It was very special!

The wedding was an amazing visual expression of God’s Covenant as the Bridegroom, Jesus, gave His life for His Bride, us, reconciling us to Himself. The ceremony was rich in Messianic significance and tradition. From the Cantor’s call of the Groom and Bride to the Parental Blessings to the signing of the Covenant (Ketubah) to the Seven Blessings to the Prayer under the Chuppah to the Groom serving his Bride Communion to the Stomp the Glass and the BIG first kiss! And it really was their first kiss!

It was also rich in the backgrounds and cultures of both the Bride and Groom’s families. Scottish, Irish, Cherokee, German, English, Welch and a touch of French, blended together between Hebraic and Baptist worship forms.

Meleah and James were so much fun to work with! The camera absolutely loved them as you can see from the images! Thank you to both of them and their families for allowing Sue Riley Photography to be a part of their incredible day. “May God be gracious to you and bless you and make His face shine upon you.” Psalm 67:1
